Community-Wide Open House

Marathon City is participating in a statewide downtown open house event and encouraging people to visit and explore local attractions in the community on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

Visitors will get to know Marathon’s local businesses and organizations better when they open their doors to the public, starting at 10:00 a.m. and running until 2 p.m. Daytime activities are family friendly. Free snacks and special discounts will be offered by many participating local businesses. Visitors can also pick up Open House “Passport” cards from participating businesses and turn them in to be eligible to win prizes.

Several “pop-up” stores and activities will open for the day including a garden center, art class, petting zoo, car wash, espresso stand and a bakery. Volunteers can join in a local cleanup project going on at Lion’s Park from 9a-Noon. The Marathon City Heritage Center will be open special hours and showcase a display of vintage wedding dresses. The Village Hall will feature a special Main Street project display and announcement. Then Saturday afternoon, bring your family for open bowling at Marathon City Sports Center from 11a-midnight. The weekend events wrap up with an Open House Party hosted at Marathon City Sports Center beginning at 5p.

The Marathon City Open House event is hosted by Marathon City 2020 Ltd. and is open to the public.
