Nearly four dozen people gathered for an evening of music, networking and camaraderie during a Summer Social hosted by Marathon City 2020, Ltd. The outdoor event was held Tuesday, July 11th at the Marathon City Heritage Center's parking lot.

MC2020 volunteers spent the week prior transforming the lot into a temporary green space, complete with hanging lights, potted plants, benches and a covered stage. The idea for holding the event was to raise awareness about MC2020's community revitalization efforts, including seeking community feedback and interest for turning the prominently located parking lot into a permanent green space that could be used by the public.

Event participants enjoyed musical performances from local students and residents. Donations were also presented to MC2020 by the owners of Arrow Tap, and contributions also came from community residents interested in funding revitalization efforts.
